Suspected gas blast collapses building in Athens Plaka, killing one and leaving tourists missing

A large blast on Friday, thought to be from a gas leak, destroyed a building in Plaka, central Athens. On Saturday a Greek fire brigade official said rescuers recovered the body of a young woman and three others were injured; shops and cars nearby were damaged. Mayor Haris Doukas said the harm ran along the whole street. Several foreign nationals are still missing; ANA said the victim was an American tourist in a holiday rental with her husband and another couple. Local media listed a Briton, a Greek woman on the second floor, and four Americans on the first floor among the missing.
