Trump says DOJ will rein in AI risks if needed while backing U.S. lead over China

On Monday, Trump said on Truth Social that the DOJ and other U.S. law enforcement will rein in AI risks if needed, while vowing not to slow growth in a sector he said will surpass the Industrial Revolution and the internet. He again called AI danger claims a hoax, said the U.S. leads China, and cited a June order for voluntary government access to frontier models up to 30 days before release.
