Lando Norris wins São Paulo Grand Prix as Mercedes secure constructors' title
Lando Norris claimed an impressive victory for McLaren at the São Paulo Grand Prix, mastering variable conditions at Interlagos to win by 14 seconds. Starting from pole, Norris seized control after newly crowned world champion Kimi Antonelli suffered tyre temperature issues and ran off track twice. Norris kept his composure through late rainfall in the final ten laps to claim his third victory of the season, his second consecutive win in Brazil, and the 14th of his career.
Red Bull’s Max Verstappen delivered a remarkable comeback, surging from 21st on the grid following engine penalties to claim second place. Red Bull’s Isack Hadjar finished third, while McLaren’s Oscar Piastri took sixth. For Ferrari, Charles Leclerc finished seventh, and Lewis Hamilton placed ninth from 20th on the grid in his milestone 400th grand prix.
Mercedes officially clinched their ninth Formula One constructors' championship, securing their first title double since 2020. Needing to outscore Ferrari by three points, Mercedes secured the crown as George Russell took fourth—despite spinning out of the pit lane—and Antonelli recovered to fifth. The result capped a commanding 2026 season that yielded 12 wins across 20 races.
