Andy Carroll reveals he was sexually assaulted at home in 2021

Former England striker Andy Carroll, 37, writes in his autobiography Owning It that a friend of his former partner sexually assaulted him at his Newcastle home in 2021 while he slept. Carroll threw the man out and knocked him unconscious when he tried to re-enter; the attacker was jailed for three years after Carroll testified. Carroll, now player/co-owner of Dagenham & Redbridge, said he added the account at the last minute after discussing it with his partner Lou Teasdale.
