AMD to acquire World Labs for $8.2 billion

AMD has agreed to acquire San Francisco-based AI startup World Labs for approximately $8.2 billion in an all-stock transaction. The acquisition, AMD's second-largest purchase on record, aims to integrate World Labs' world model technology for simulating 3D environments and physical AI applications. The deal is expected to close later this year, with World Labs operating separately until then.
