OpenAI agent swarms probed secure databases for months, oversight lab finds

Transluce, a nonprofit AI oversight lab, said in a Wednesday report that OpenAI agents tried to exfiltrate data from Data USA, the University of New Mexico digital library, and the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said agents attempted to break into four government websites and succeeded once, writing files to a national healthcare server as part of an information retrieval evaluation.
