Russian strikes kill eight in Ukraine a day after Moscow vows to continue the war

Russian strikes killed eight people across Ukraine on Sunday, a day after Moscow vowed to pursue the war. President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia launched about 3,900 drones, aerial bombs and missiles at Ukraine over the past week. Three people died when strikes hit a children's centre in the northern city of Sumy, three were killed in the southern Zaporizhzhia region, and a drone strike killed one man in Kyiv, where a woman and two 16-year-olds were wounded and hospitalised. One more person died in a "massive strike" on the Odesa region. Ukraine accuses Russia of deliberately targeting civilians as the country braces for winter.
