UK doctors develop non-invasive urine and vaginal fluid test to rule out womb cancer after menopause

Doctors at the University of Manchester and Manchester University NHS foundation trust developed a cheap test using urine and vaginal fluid to help rule out womb cancer in women with postmenopausal bleeding. In a study of 1,864 women at seven north-west England hospitals, 99 (5%) had womb cancer; the test detected 80 of those cases, potentially sparing many lower-risk women invasive ultrasounds, womb biopsies and hysteroscopies.
