Houthis claim drone and missile attack on Riyadh as smoke rises near Saudi capital airport

Iran-backed Houthi militants say they fired a large number of ballistic and cruise missiles and drones at "sensitive sites" in the Saudi capital Riyadh and at Aramco oil and gas facilities in Yanbu on the Red Sea coast. Black smoke was seen rising from fuel tanks near King Khalid International Airport on Saturday, causing hours of flight disruptions; it was the first time residents had received an air raid alert and been urged to stay indoors since the recent escalation. Saudi authorities have not commented. Houthi spokesman Yahya al-Sarea said the attack responded to what he called Saudi attempts to target Sanaa, after he accused Saudi Arabia of carrying out 300 strikes across Yemen in the past week. The Houthis are fighting a civil war against Yemen's internationally recognised government, which is backed by Saudi Arabia.
