US again denies Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas a visa for UN General Assembly

The US has denied Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas a visa to attend next week's UN General Assembly in New York, a source told AFP on Wednesday. The State Department separately said it would deny visas to PLO and Palestinian Authority officials generally, citing failed reform commitments and actions undermining peace prospects. The Trump administration took the same step last year, forcing Abbas to address the UN by video instead.
