Disaster declared as heavy rains flood Bangkok

Days of almost continuous heavy rain have caused widespread flooding in Bangkok, and Governor Chadchart Sittipunt has declared the capital a disaster-affected zone. Nearly 300 millimetres (11.8 inches) of rain has fallen, with more expected, while footage shows cars on submerged roads and some vehicles stranded.
