Two injured by Israeli shelling as troops advance in southern Lebanon

Israeli artillery shelling injured two people on Friday in Chaqra, in Lebanon's Bint Jbeil district, with the wounded taken to Tebnin hospital, the state-run National News Agency reported. Shells also fell on Wadi Nahla near Shuqra, while Israeli forces withdrew from the outskirts of Deir Mimas in Marjayoun after a standoff in which two Israeli tanks advanced toward a barricade facing Lebanese army vehicles. Israel has occupied parts of southern Lebanon since war broke out with Hezbollah in March; under a June framework agreement, the Lebanese army is to take control of the area.
