Western tech and platforms used to recruit workers for Russia's war

A Code for Africa report shared with POLITICO finds a Russia-linked recruitment network using Meta and Google ads to reach unemployed workers in Africa, Asia and Belarus through fake staffing offers and polished websites, some falsely bearing BBC logos. Researchers identified 89 websites, seven Facebook accounts and 39 messaging channels, with new ones appearing daily.
