OpenAI launches GPT-6 Sol and Luna with lower API costs and fewer mistakes

OpenAI released updated GPT-6 Sol and Luna models, extending the generation begun with GPT-6 Astra earlier this month. Sol targets complex tasks such as coding; Luna handles high-volume clerical work like summarizing documents and extracting information. API access costs half as much as the 5.6 Sol and Luna series, which OpenAI credits to caching and inference gains; it also says the new models produce more factual answers.
