Scientists describe first new cat species in more than a century as Leopardus tilcayo

Researchers have named Leopardus tilcayo, a wild cat smaller than a housecat and covered in leopard-like spots, as the first new cat species described by science in more than 100 years. The classification rests on genetic analysis presented in a new study.
