Anthropic to pay Akamai $11.6 billion over seven years in cloud deal

Anthropic will spend $11.6 billion over seven years on Akamai's cloud infrastructure in Akamai's largest deal ever, more than six times a $1.8 billion pact reported in May. The commitment depends on Akamai meeting delivery and service requirements, and either company may end it under certain conditions. Akamai expects no revenue this year, $150–300 million in 2027 from the second half, and about $1.7 billion annually by end-2028; Anthropic may receive up to 5% of Akamai stock as spending grows.
