The UAE prosecutor general says the co-pilot of a Flydubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv attacked the captain with a crash axe to seize control. The plane, carrying more than 170 people, dropped about 17,000ft (5,200m) 2.5 hours into the flight before passengers overpowered the attacker. Two reserve pilots landed it safely in Saudi Arabia. Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu said the attacker was an Omani national. The UAE is investigating motives and possible terrorist links.
