US-backed Board of Peace proposes $2.4bn Gaza reconstruction as Israel kills seven

The US-backed Board of Peace unveiled a 66-project, $2.4bn plan to begin Gaza reconstruction at a UN General Assembly meeting as Israeli attacks killed seven Palestinians. Full rebuild costs are estimated at $35bn medium-term and $71.4bn over 10 years. High representative Nikolay Mladenov said the plan depends on Hamas disarmament; Hamas and other factions agreed to a disarmament document in July.
