Syria's al-Sharaa tells UN Golan Heights will remain Syrian despite Israeli occupation

Syria's President Ahmed al-Sharaa told the UN on Wednesday that the Golan Heights will remain Syrian despite Israeli occupation. In his second UN address he denounced repeated Israeli strikes since Bashar al-Assad's fall, after Colombia's August recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the territory Israel captured in 1967; the US alone had previously recognized the 1981 annexation, while the UN maintains the plateau is occupied Syrian territory.
