Trump Accounts will auto-enroll children, potentially adding 60 million accounts: Treasury

The U.S. Treasury Department announced that Trump Accounts will begin auto-enrolling children as early as Oct. 1 under regulations published Tuesday. The move could add over 60 million accounts in 2026, bringing total enrollment to 70 million within a month, according to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. The tax-deferred accounts provide a one-time $1,000 deposit for kids born between 2025 and 2028.
