Ukrainian drone strike hits Moscow as Russia’s parliamentary vote ends

Ukraine mounted a large overnight drone attack on the Moscow region on the last day of Russia’s first parliamentary elections since the February 2022 full-scale invasion, killing at least two people, damaging a major oil refinery and forcing 400 people from an apartment building, regional governor Andrey Vorobyov said. Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said more than 1,600 drones were shot down, 450 of them bound for the capital, and called it an attempt to disrupt the vote. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said long-range strikes hit a key oil facility and a logistics site in and around Moscow.
