Civilians in Russian-occupied Oleshky eat weeds as food runs out for about 2,000 people

Supplies to Oleshky, across the Dnipro from Kherson, are cut off; roughly 2,000 civilians cannot leave and face hunger, with bodies left for dogs because retrieving them risks drone strikes. One resident’s weight fell from 110kg to 67kg. Foreign minister Andrii Sybiha raised the crisis at the UN, warned of a humanitarian catastrophe, and accused Russia of blocking evacuation; a “Save Oleshky” banner appeared at a Ukraine–Hungary Nations League match on Friday.
