Lionsgate Revenue Rises 41% on ‘Michael’ and TV Sales
Lionsgate reported a sharp improvement in its fiscal 2026 second quarter, with revenue reaching $668.8 million for the three months ended Sept. 30. That represents a 41% increase from the same quarter a year earlier and marks another strong period for the company. The results were supported by the studio’s blockbuster biopic “Michael,” centred on the King of Pop, as well as continued sales of television series.
The company also moved back into operating profit. Operating income was $29.1 million, compared with an operating loss of $46.0 million in the equivalent period last year. The swing highlights the combined effect of the film’s performance and Lionsgate’s television business during the quarter. Taken together, the revenue growth and change in operating result show a substantially stronger financial position than a year ago, with “Michael” again providing an important contribution to the studio’s results.
