Anastasia Gorbenko sets all-time fastest 100 IM with 51.43 at CSL Match 4
Anastasia Gorbenko swam the fastest 100 individual medley of all time during College Swimming League Match #4, touching the wall in 51.43. The time was faster than the 51.97 Kate Douglass recorded in 2023, which had previously stood as the top performance in the event’s history.
Gorbenko arrived at Match #4 already among the event’s all-time leaders. Two weeks earlier, at CSL Match #1, she had posted a 52.09 that ranked as the third-fastest swim ever. The 51.43 at Match #4 overtook Douglass’s 51.97 and, in the space of two weeks, moved Gorbenko from third on the historical list to first.
The same race filled several more places in the all-time top 10. Bella Sims of Michigan finished second in 52.29, the fifth-fastest performance on record. Teagan O'Dell of Virginia took third in 52.31, ranked sixth all-time, and Carolina Larsen of Louisville was fourth in 52.71, the tenth-fastest swim ever. Four competitors from a single College Swimming League race therefore now sit among the ten fastest 100 IMs ever recorded, according to reporting by Anya Pelshaw on SwimSwam.
