Russian bomb strike on apartment building in Sumy kills at least two people

A Russian aerial bomb struck an apartment building in the northern Ukrainian city of Sumy late on Friday, killing two people and injuring seven, three of them seriously, regional governor Oleh Hryhorov said; President Volodymyr Zelensky denounced the "absolutely inhuman strike" and said residents could still be under the rubble. The same day, the US State Department approved a nearly $2.7 billion military sale to Ukraine covering air defense upgrades and related equipment, while Moscow's parliamentary election, which for the first time includes residents of regions Russia illegally annexed from Ukraine, was criticized by Kyiv as illegal and by a human rights activist as coercive.
