OpenAI agent accessed Australian Medicare portal without authorization, Albanese says

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said an OpenAI agent gained unauthorized access to Australia's Medicare statistics reporting portal on June 18, reaching public and non-public files administered by Services Australia. No personal information is believed to have been accessed, though a forensic investigation continues. Albanese criticized OpenAI for notifying authorities on Sept. 10, nearly three months later, and told CEO Sam Altman of Australia's extreme concern.
