EU unveils A-to-G sustainability label for large data centers from 2027

Brussels unveiled an environmental rating for data centers powering AI, applying from August 2027. Large facilities must display A-to-G grades on energy efficiency, water use and clean power uptake; Energy Commissioner Dan Jørgensen called it a first step to pressure tech giants and said minimum performance standards would follow. Smaller centers are exempt for now; the EU says it would be the world's most comprehensive such scheme.
