Major incident at UK airbase used by US forces

British police evacuated homes near RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire while army bomb disposal experts examined several vehicles in what authorities called a major incident. Five men were arrested on suspicion of preparing a terrorist act and offences under the Explosives Act. The base is also used by the US for strikes on Iranian missile sites targeting ships in the Strait of Hormuz; US Air Force personnel were told to remain vigilant, and police said the incident is now contained.
