Houthi advances in Yemen displace over 132,000 and deepen humanitarian crisis

Fighting and Houthi territorial gains have displaced more than 132,000 people, pushing Yemen toward a full humanitarian emergency. After the Houthis captured Mokha in early September, Mohammed Musleh’s family fled to Aden without IDs; Presidential Council chair Rashad al-Alimi vowed to restore state authority, but since late July Iran-backed Houthis have seized much of Yemen’s Red Sea coast.
