Afghan cyclist who trained disguised as a man wins Asian Games silver medal

Afghan cyclist Fariba Hashimi won silver in the women's road race at the Asian Games near Nagoya, Japan on Tuesday, after finishing seventh in the individual time trial on Sunday. The 23-year-old fled Afghanistan when the Taliban returned in 2021 and had disguised herself as a man to train and avoid attacks in a country where women's rights are heavily restricted.
