Assassin's Creed Hexe reportedly delayed to 2028 alongside new game leaks
Ubisoft's roadmap for its flagship franchise has come into sharper focus following reports that the upcoming Assassin's Creed Hexe has been internally delayed from 2027 to 2028. First teased by the publisher in 2022, Hexe is set in the 17th-century Holy Roman Empire and is intended to feature a more magical tone than previous entries. While Ubisoft promised to share more details about the game next year, reporting from Insider Gaming indicates that production has run into issues following the departure of several high-level developers, pushing its expected release window back.
The development delay surfaced alongside leaks from insider j0nathan, who revealed two unannounced projects in a YouTube video. The first, codenamed Mars, is reportedly a traditional Assassin's Creed title set in Ancient Rome, mirroring the historical era of an upcoming Netflix adaptation. However, with Hexe's timetable pushed back, Insider Gaming notes that Mars is unlikely to be revealed or released until 2029 or 2030 at the earliest. The second leaked project is Assassin's Creed Pocket, a mobile title set in Jerusalem that draws gameplay inspiration from the Mastery Challenges featured in Assassin's Creed Valhalla.
