U.S. to reopen Greenland Cold War base and station troops under security deal with Denmark

The U.S., Denmark and Greenland are set to sign a security agreement Tuesday under which the U.S. would reopen the Cold War-era base at Narsarsuaq and station forces at Mestersvig, a Danish Sirius Patrol outpost. Donald Trump said Friday the deal gives the U.S. permanent control over security in Greenland; terms remain undisclosed and may not be final until a signing at the UN General Assembly in New York.
