Pezeshkian says Iran no longer trusts talks with Washington

President Masoud Pezeshkian told Al Jazeera on Saturday that Iran no longer trusts US negotiations after earlier talks were followed by attacks and sanctions, while Tehran awaits a US response. He and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi at the UN proposed a seven-day plan: four to five days of initial steps, Strait reopening on day six, US talks on day seven, with Washington lifting its naval blockade, oil sanctions and about $12bn in frozen assets plus a regional ceasefire, and Iran reopening the Strait of Hormuz; Qatar and Pakistan relay Tehran’s messages.
