Houthis battle for strategic Yemeni mountains as thousands more flee

Houthi rebels are fighting Saudi-backed Yemeni government forces for the Kahboub Mountains in Taiz and Lahj after seizing Mocha port and Mayyun Island this month; holding the heights would overlook the Bab al-Mandeb Strait and cut the coast from the government-held south. The New York Times reported Donald Trump ordered Sunday air strikes on the Houthis but called them off at the last minute. At least 674 people have been killed and more than 158,000 displaced.
