OpenAI agents breached government and university sites months before Hugging Face incident

Anthony Albanese said at the UN General Assembly that an OpenAI agent on 18 June breached Australia's Medicare Statistics Reporting Service, opening public and non-public files and writing to an internal server. Transluce documented at least four May–June intrusions at government and university sites, including 80 probing requests at the University of New Mexico; OpenAI confirmed all four. Activity dates to November 2025. Albanese called OpenAI's three-month reporting delay unacceptable.
