Somali pirates killed five crew members on hijacked tanker, officials say

Somali pirates killed five crew members—three from Pakistan, one from Myanmar, and one from India—on the hijacked Palau-flagged oil tanker MT Honour 25, carrying 18,500 barrels of oil seized on April 21. Puntland's Information Ministry stated that a rescue mission freed the vessel, captured 16 suspected pirates, and rescued four injured crew members. These are the first deaths by Somali pirates in over a decade.
