Neve Campbell Confirms Her Return for Scream 8
Neve Campbell has confirmed she will reprise Sidney Prescott in Scream 8, the next installment of the 30-year-old horror franchise. She verified her involvement on Monday in an Associated Press interview while promoting her role in the Netflix series Black Doves. Asked for details of what Sidney will face, she laughed and declined: “You know I can’t tell you anything about Scream 8,” adding only, “I’ll be in it.”
The confirmation follows Scream 7 (2025), in which Sidney survived another clash with Ghostface-masked killers. That film posted the series’ biggest opening ever, $97.2 million worldwide, and became its highest-grossing entry at $208 million worldwide against a $45 million budget. Spyglass Media and Paramount Pictures, which distributes the films, then moved quickly to develop Scream 8.
Campbell has appeared in six of the seven Scream movies, sitting out 2023’s Scream 6 after a contract dispute. She returned for Scream 7 on a reported $7 million salary. At the time she told CBS Mornings she “didn’t think I could live with myself” if she had taken the Scream 6 offer, because she felt her “value to this franchise was bigger than what had been offered.” In 2022 she told Variety the sixth-film offer “did not equate to the value I have brought to the franchise.”
