Volkswagen and Audi to recall nearly 1 million cars in Germany over steering fault

Volkswagen and Audi will recall nearly 900,000 vehicles in Germany and 2.16 million worldwide after Germany's KBA flagged steering bolts that may fail, damaging the gearbox or causing total steering loss. Affected VW models include Tiguan, Touran, Golf Variant, Caddy and Golf built from 24 September 2013 to 1 July 2024; Audi's Q3 covers 700,000 vehicles globally, 58,555 in Germany. Bolts will be replaced; no accidents or injuries are known.
