Canadian-Haitian writer Thélyson Orélien stripped from Prix Goncourt longlist after AI claims

Prix Goncourt organisers removed Canadian-Haitian novelist Thélyson Orélien's book It Was Either That or Die from the longlist on Friday after claims on the Balance ton Claude account that AI wrote much of it. Orélien denied using AI, but the Academy cited findings the book is very largely AI-generated and noted plagiarism claims; the shortlist is due on 6 October.
