DR Congo's Ebola outbreak spreads to two new health zones, WHO says

The WHO said on Friday that Ebola caused by the Bundibugyo strain spread to Bulu in South Ubangi and Dungu in Haut-Uele, bringing affected health zones to 63 across seven provinces. As of September 23, the DRC reported 7,890 confirmed cases and 3,799 deaths. WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said conflict and displacement hinder response, and no approved vaccines exist for this strain.
