Trump Warns the US May Have to Destroy the Rest of Iran
President Donald Trump has warned that the United States may launch further attacks aimed at destroying what remains of Iran, saying he would prefer not to take that step but might have no choice. “You’ll know soon enough,” Trump said, without explaining what decision was under consideration or setting out specific conditions for further military action.
The remarks have intensified concern over the direction and potential scale of the United States and Israel’s war on Iran. They suggest that Washington is keeping open the possibility of widening the conflict beyond its current operations, while offering the public little detail about the intended targets, timing or legal basis for such an escalation.
US Congresswoman Yassamin Ansari condemned Trump’s statement, arguing that he was threatening the destruction of a country with a population of 90 million. Writing on X, she described the threat as “a crime against humanity” and called on Democrats to act urgently to end what she called Trump’s “reckless war of choice” when they regain control of the House and Senate. Her response reflects opposition in Congress to the administration’s handling of the conflict and to the prospect of additional attacks against Iran.
