India and Pakistan clash at the UN over Kashmir, terrorism and water

At the UN General Assembly on Friday, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called for a fair Kashmir settlement, alleged rights abuses there, praised Pakistan’s military and branded India’s 7 May missile strikes external aggression under a false pretext; Pakistan dates a brief conflict from those strikes, while India says they answered an April attack in Jammu and Kashmir. Sharif said suspending the Indus Waters Treaty lacked legal basis and accused India of weaponizing water. India’s UN First Secretary Petal Gahlot rejected his remarks and accused Pakistan of terrorism.
