Afrikaner group’s genocide claim on US Mall disputed as refugee plan advances

An Afrikaner lobby group displayed thousands of white crosses on Washington’s National Mall, saying they represent victims of genocide against white people in South Africa. South Africa’s new US ambassador Roelf Meyer says there is no mass attack on the white Afrikaner minority. The Trump administration plans to admit up to 17,500 additional white Afrikaners as refugees over the next 12 months, according to a notice sent to Congress on Tuesday.
