Xi opens U.S. visit as Huawei and Alibaba chip launches test export controls

Chinese President Xi Jinping began his first U.S. state visit in more than a decade as Huawei, Alibaba and others released new AI chips and models that argue U.S. curbs on Nvidia hardware can slow but not stop China's AI progress. Huawei brought its next chip forward by three quarters, Alibaba unveiled its most powerful domestic processor, and DeepSeek reportedly lined up the largest known Huawei chip cluster to date.
