Control Resonant leaves the Oldest House behind, and loses the first game's unsettling atmosphere with it

Polygon argues that Control Resonant takes the series forward in a significant way, but in doing so abandons the Oldest House, the shifting brutalist headquarters that defined the first game. Without that setting, the review says, the sequel also loses the eerie, scary aura that made the original Control so distinctive — and ignores its most compelling character in the process.
