UN mission finds evidence of US war crimes in Iran war, Washington rejects findings

A UN Independent International Fact-Finding Mission said there are "reasonable grounds" to believe US forces committed war crimes during the Iran war, citing a Tomahawk missile strike on a primary school in Minab that killed over 150 people and a separate airstrike on a sports complex and residential area that killed 22 civilians. Investigators found no evidence the school served a military purpose and said it was the intended target, not collateral damage. A State Department official dismissed the report, and White House spokesperson Anna Kelly also pushed back on its findings.
