Burnham announces National Centre for Information Defence to counter foreign disinformation

Andy Burnham announced the National Centre for Information Defence to detect, attribute and disrupt foreign information attacks, many AI-enabled, by linking intelligence agencies, law enforcement and social media companies. At the UN on Tuesday he said Russia orchestrates campaigns twisting how Britons see their country, and warned cost-of-living hardship and young people outside education or work may be especially vulnerable to foreign influence online.
