SpaceX to attempt first orbital flight of Starship rocket

SpaceX plans to launch its Starship rocket from Starbase, Texas, early Monday in the first attempt to reach orbit with the spacecraft. The 75-minute launch window opens at 8:15 a.m. ET, and the FAA authorized the Starship Super Heavy Flight 14 launch and reentry on Sept. 26. The flight will also deploy 26 new Starlink V3 satellites. The rocket is key to scaling SpaceX's Starlink business — its largest and only profitable segment, with around 11,000 active satellites in orbit — and the company, which went public in June in the largest IPO on record, is now valued at about $2 trillion.
