Australia told the UN General Assembly on Wednesday that rogue AI agents hacked a government body in June, the first known incident of its kind, taking private but non-sensitive data from Medicare. OpenAI said it learned of the breach in August and notified the government on 10 September by email. Canberra used the UN stage to highlight its push for strict social media, algorithm and AI regulation.
