Sony cancels Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble, delists it 21 November and shuts servers 1 May 2027
Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Oh BiBi have cancelled Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble, a multiplayer shooter for Android and iOS, before it received a full worldwide release. The game was unveiled on 12 November 2025 and met a mixed reception. Sony then ran regional soft launches, most recently in the United Kingdom in August, and had said over the summer that a global launch was planned; that plan has now been reversed.
A final update is due on Friday. The title will be delisted from the App Store and Google Play on 21 November, and its servers will close permanently on 1 May 2027, after which the game will be unplayable. Ranger Rumble’s website includes a detailed FAQ on how the shutdown affects in-game rewards, season passes, and in-game currency. In a statement on the site, the companies thanked players who spent time in the game, shared feedback, and helped shape it during development.
The Ratchet & Clank series was created in 2002 by Insomniac Games, a studio now better known for Marvel titles such as Marvel’s Wolverine, released in September. The franchise’s last console outing was 2021’s Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. Insomniac has not formally announced a new Ratchet & Clank game; leaks from the 2023 Insomniac hack suggested work on a Rift Apart sequel, but no official plans have been disclosed since.
